Lucy
DREYER
Actress & Model

A Testimonial from a European Theatre Company
I have known Lucy Dreyer since 2018 when she performed in ‘Retour au Pays’, a piece of multi-lingual (French, German and Alsatian) poetry in performance. In 2019 we cast her in two more pieces of poetry in performance, ‘Gretna Green’ and ‘Capital of Europe’, and in a short two-hander, ‘Goethe in Alsace’. She will be returning to perform a full length version of ‘Goethe in Alsace’ for us this March (2020), and will also be performing in ‘Shed’ for poet Martin Figura and ‘The Turkey Carpet’, a piece of dance theatre with secondary school student performers.
I have now personally directed Lucy on a number of occasions. She is completely dependable and a joy to have in the rehearsal room. Always on time, she arrives prepared and brimming full of energy, enthusiasm and resourcefulness. She works incredibly hard and puts 110% into each role. Lucy clearly reflects deeply on the text outside of the rehearsal room and is able to contribute ideas and suggestions in an extremely helpful and supportive way. She is also multi-skilled; she can sing, dance, choreograph, take on different languages (she is completely bilingual in French and English, but was happy to master German too) and accents (Yorkshire, Scottish and London).
In performance she has proved herself to be dependable even under a great deal of pressure, with short rehearsal times and in non-theatre, close-up environments. Her performances are full of energy and physicality but she can also dial things right down to introduce a lovely subtlety and delicate emotion when required. She is very brave and very funny! Most importantly, from a director’s perspective, she takes direction well and is willing to change things when asked.
Lucy is a little pocket rocket of an actress. Versatile, hard-working and always supportive, you absolutely want Lucy at your side when things get tough! She’ll be there and she’ll get the job done, whatever you ask of her. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.
